British Orienteering and the clubs of the South Central Orienteering Association welcomed competitors to a weekend of orienteering in the New Forest on 28 February - 1 March 2009 which incorporated:
- British Orienteering Long Distance Championships
- UK Cup and Future Champions Cup race for Elite competitors
- British Orienteering Relay Championships
The first two took place on Saturday 28 February using the heathland of Hampton Ridge and its surrounding Inclosures.
The Relay Championships took place on Sunday 1 March on Beaulieu Estate and Heath, an area then new to orienteering.
