SCOA Grants

SCOA GRANT APPLICATION FORM

The criteria for obtaining a SCOA Grant were clarified at the June 2010 SCOA Committee Meeting.

Grants are available to SCOA-affiliated BOF members for the activities listed below:

JROS Tours (e.g. Lagganlia, Deeside, Stockholm, Gothenburg) 5

50% of tour fee

WJHI, SHI, VHI, Interland 5

50% of fee paid or corresponding England fee (whichever is the lower)

Juniors Representing GB 5

decided on a case by case basis 5

Courses:

  - First Aid for Coaches (max course fee: 1 day £95, 2 day £150) 3

  - Event Official (Organiser, Planner, Controller, Mapper) 4

  - Club Coach 3

50% of course fee

Attendance at Conference as SCOA Representative

100% of fee & travel costs. 2

Attending SCOA meetings as Club Representative/SCOA Official.

100% travel costs. 2

1   All grants are subject to committee approval and must be agreed before any expenditure is incurred.

2   All travel costs are at British Orienteering rates

3   To qualify for coaching grants, an applicant must deliver at least 15 hours unpaid coaching with a SCOA club or the SCOA Junior Squad within a year of completing the course.

4   To qualify for Event Officials’ grants, all applicants must provide relevant unpaid services to their club within a year of completing their training course.

5.  To qualify for tour funding, applicants over M/W18 are required to contribute in a significant way to an event within one year before or one year after a successful grant application

6    Provide details of funding for the activity obtained or requested from other bodies.
